Tesco's 16th store in Norwich, on the corner of Dereham Road and Old Palace Road – the old Dial House site – is due to open next Friday, subject to the usual licensing formalities.
Following the long running battle and controversy surrounding the Unthank Road Tesco site, which opened in July last year, there was a less vigorous local opposition to this new store, which will seek to serve people on the northern edge of the Golden Triangle.
While local businesses and some residents expressed their concerns, a facebook campaign, No to Dereham Road Tesco, failed to attract significant support.
